Tehran Sends Written Assurance to U.S. That It Won’t Seek Trump’s Assassination

In a bid to ease growing tensions between Washington and Tehran, Iran sent a written assurance to the Biden administration last month, confirming it would not attempt to assassinate President-elect Donald Trump, The Wall Street Journal revealed on Friday.

The message, delivered on October 14, came in response to a U.S. warning issued the previous month, which had stressed that any attempt on Trump’s life would be treated as an act of war.
