Nassar Welcomes Launch of Disarmament Plan, Says State Project Belongs to All Lebanese

Justice Minister Adel Nassar on Friday voiced strong support for the government’s recent decision to consolidate all weapons under the authority of the State, saying the move marks a crucial step toward restoring full sovereignty and equality under the law.

“The process of placing all weapons under official state authority has been set in motion within a defined timeline," Nassar wrote in a post on his official X account.

He framed the disarmament effort as a unifying national endeavor, not a partisan battle.

“Statehood is a project for all Lebanese, not one group against another!” Nassar wrote.

Reaffirming the principle of equal citizenship, he added: “Lebanon comes first. Lebanon belongs to all its people, equal under the rule of law and the Constitution.”
