Israeli Airstrikes Hit Hezbollah’s Radwan Force Training Sites in Bekaa

The Israeli military said Monday it carried out a series of airstrikes in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa area, hitting what it described as Hezbollah training camps used by the group’s elite Radwan Force to prepare attacks against Israel.

In a statement, the Israeli army said the targeted sites were being used “for storing weapons and conducting military training against the State of Israel,” calling the activity “a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon and a threat to the State of Israel.”

“Hezbollah uses these camps to train and qualify terrorist operatives in preparation for carrying out attacks against Israeli forces and civilians,” Avichay Adraee, the Israeli army’s Arabic-language spokesperson, said. “The training includes live-fire exercises and the use of various types of weaponry.”

Local reports said heavy bombardments struck the areas of Zeghrine, the outskirts of Harbata, the highlands between Harbata and Shaat, and parts of the Hermel mountains. The explosions were heard clearly across several towns in the region as Israeli fighter jets continued to hit the outskirts of multiple villages in the Hermel district.

Earlier, the Galilee Regional Council announced that dozens of Israeli settlements along the northern border had been placed on alert amid expectations of further strikes against Hezbollah positions.
