Nadim Gemayel Bids Farewell to Bachir's Close Associate

In a heartfelt message, Deputy Nadim Gemayel expressed deep sorrow at the passing of George Freiha, a significant figure in Lebanon's political and resistance landscape. Gemayel’s tribute highlighted Freiha's pivotal role as a close associate of the late President Bachir Gemayel.

“We bid farewell today with sadness and grief to a companion, brother, and pillar of support to Bachir,” Gemayel wrote on his X account. “We say goodbye to George Freiha, a thinker and resistance figure who worked alongside Bachir, both on the front lines and behind the scenes.”

Freiha, who was appointed by Bachir Gemayel as President’s Chief of Staff and advisor, was also recognized as the founder and general coordinator of popular organizations in Lebanon. His contributions were instrumental in shaping the political and resistance efforts of the time.

Gemayel’s message underscored Freiha’s importance not only as a political figure but also as a personal friend and supporter to him and his family. “Our loss is profound,” he reflected. “May your soul rest in peace, George!”
