Kataeb MP Nadim Gemayel has once again underscored his firm stance on the importance of national sovereignty and the need to restore Lebanon’s State authority, which he says has been undermined by the influence of militias.

In a post on the social media platform "X," Gemayel reiterated his long-standing call for the Lebanese State to reclaim its power from what he referred to as "Iranian militias and others."

"We’ve said it before and we will keep repeating it, today and tomorrow: taking a clear stance gives life. A State cannot rise when its authority is in the hands of an Iranian militia and others," Gemayel wrote.

"The audacity of the leaders of these groups has gone too far," he added, signaling his frustration with the continued control these groups exert over state functions. Gemayel stressed that only through "courage and a clear position" can Lebanon achieve its national interest and restore the State's dignity, which he argues has been severely diminished.
