MP Michel Mouawad on Thursday said that the country was in a state of collapse, saying that everyone is convinced that the presidential election must be a serious entry point for dialogue.

“I say to the opposition that the only way to reach salvation is to unite our ranks. It has become clear to everyone that we have a serious project and will stick to it,” Mouawad said following president election session.

“We must return to the West and Arab countries and to the unity of the Lebanese in a bid to achieve rescue,” he noted.

Mouawad affirmed that consensus could not be reached under the roof of arms, and settlements would only lead to more collapse.
