"Shamal Al Mouwajaha'' North Lebanon III Electoral List Unveiled

“Shamal Al Mouwajaha,” electoral list which includes Adib Abdel Massih, Brigitte Khair and Dr. Emil Fayad for the three Orthodox seats in Koura; Michel Mouawad, Tony Mardini and Jawad Boulos for Zgharta’s three Maronite seats; Dr. Rachid Rahme for the Maronite seat in Bcharre; and Joelle Howayeck and Majd Harb for the two Maronite seats in Batroun was announced Saturday during a campaign launch event in Anfeh.

Leader of North Lebanon III list 'Shamal Al Mouwajaha,' Michel Mouawad stressed that he has chosen the north of the revolution because the Lebanese people are at the gates of Hell, and if we continue in this way, we will descend more and more towards Hell.

“We want our money back, we want to rebuild our middle class, we seek development and dignity, we want to build a future, and we want success in Lebanon, but how? It is a battle to regain our identity and a battle for existence in the face of Hezbollah's weapon that does not resemble us,” he noted.

“The campaign’s electoral program focuses on seven points: Sovereignty, neutrality, the rule of law, governance, a free and fair economy, exiting the crisis, and the North,” he added.

“Our battle is not against you!” Mouawad said addressing revolutionary forces that refused to ally with him.

“This confrontation, which we will start in the north, will cross religions and regions, so we joined hands with revolutionary and opposition groups and forces,” he added.

“We are waging a battle for every Lebanese who is denied justice, hospitalization, and electricity; the names of the system that we are fighting in the third northern district are Gebran Bassil and Sleiman Frangieh,” he affirmed.

“We are not just fighting a battle in the third northern district, but we are fighting a battle for all of Lebanon and the battle of every Lebanese who feels that their sovereignty and independence are threatened,” he pointed out.

For his part, Candidate for the Maronite seat in Batroun Majd Harb said that it was easy to draw up a popular plan without addressing the main problem.

“How can we attract investors who may discover that under their project there is a nitrate stockpile?” he asked.

He stressed that those who want to address the problem must address its causes, saying that they want to confront those who humiliate the people.

“We are proud that we are on the same page and that our first program is sovereignty,” he noted.

Harb called on the Lebanese people to cast their votes on the 14th of May so as to hold accountable every responsible of this deteriorated situation.

The campaign launch event was attended by Kataeb leader Samy Gemayel , Vice President of the Kataeb Party Georges Jreij and members of the opposition and some politicians.
