Israeli Army Claims Hezbollah Missile Facilities in Beirut's Suburbs “Mostly Destroyed”

The Israeli army announced on Tuesday that its recent wave of airstrikes has successfully destroyed a majority of Hezbollah’s weapons manufacturing and storage sites in Beirut.

According to the Israeli military, Hezbollah has spent the last two decades establishing a network of weapons production and storage facilities within Beirut’s densely populated southern suburb of Dahiyeh, a Hezbollah stronghold. These facilities have been used to manufacture and stockpile hundreds of missiles and rockets.

The military claims that each strike had been planned with precise intelligence, noting that secondary explosions following the bombings confirm the presence of explosives.

One of the targeted facilities was previously highlighted by Israel at the United Nations in 2020 as part of a series of Hezbollah weapons plants. According to Israeli military, this particular site was constructed beneath five residential buildings that housed approximately 50 families and was situated close to a school. Hezbollah allegedly used the location to produce components for precision-guided missiles.
