Israeli forces said they have killed more than 30 Hezbollah operatives, including roughly 10 members of the group’s elite Radwan Force, during a series of ground and air operations in southern Lebanon over the past several days.
The military said troops from the 91st “Galilee” Regional Division carried out coordinated strikes using tank fire, sniper fire, drone attacks, and directed airstrikes against Hezbollah positions. In one operation, soldiers identified several operatives inside a building and targeted it minutes later, killing those inside, the army said.
“In addition, our forces have destroyed dozens of Hezbollah infrastructure sites and uncovered stores of their weaponry,” the Israeli military said in a statement. “The army continues to operate decisively against Hezbollah, which has chosen to join the fight under the patronage of the Iranian regime. We will not allow any threat to Israeli citizens.”
The army also re-issued an urgent warning to residents living south of the Zahrani River, asking them to move north.
Meanwhile, a Lebanese military source told Al Jazeera that Israeli forces have advanced into most first-line towns in southern Lebanon and are seeking to push further into second-line towns in the middle and eastern sectors.
On the ground, targets included the outskirts of Al-Hamiri in the Tyre district, upper Nabatiyeh, and a building in the town of Shaqra. Israeli forces also shelled Yahmar, Al-Shuqayf, Al-Ghanduriya, Burj Qallawi, and Froun, and used phosphorus shells in some locations.
Earlier on Thursday, an airstrike destroyed a residential and commercial building in the Al-Maqael neighborhood of Kfar Rumman, killing two people. Civil defense teams, medics from Beit Al-Talaba, the Islamic Message Scouts, the Red Cross, Nabatiyeh Emergency Services, and the Islamic Health Authority recovered the bodies and treated several others trapped under rubble.
Israeli artillery also struck multiple areas in Bint Jbeil, while Shaqra and Wadi al-Slouqi came under shelling at dawn. Airstrikes targeted Ainata in Bint Jbeil, and Kfartibnit in Nabatieh sustained artillery fire. Additional raids hit Siddiqine, Wadi al-Hujeir, Khiyam, Jabal al-Batm, Al-Qalila, and Shaqra.
Around 10 a.m., Israeli warplanes struck the Saf Al-Hawa area in Bint Jbeil, killing three people, and later carried out a heavy airstrike on the town of Siddiqine.
The Israeli military said its operations are aimed at neutralizing Hezbollah fighters and preventing any threats to civilians and troops.
