Israeli warplanes carried out a wave of strikes across southern Lebanon early Wednesday, as hostilities with Hezbollah have intensified.
Airstrikes hit multiple areas in the south, including the town of Kafra in the Nabatieh district, as well as a house in Haris and the coastal towns of Qlaila and Hanniyeh in the Tyre district. Additional raids targeted Tayr Debba, Jouaiya, Dabaal and Haris, while artillery shelling struck Wadi al-Ghandourieh and Frun in Bint Jbeil, as well as Khiam in Marjayoun. Shelling also hit Maroun al-Ras, Yaroun and the outskirts of Bint Jbeil.
In Nabatieh city, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said two paramedics were killed in an Israeli strike.
Israeli aircraft also struck the vicinity of Toul and launched three separate raids on the southern town of Hanine.
In the latest ground developments, local media reported an Israeli advance toward the border town of Debel in the Bint Jbeil district, accompanied by continued airstrikes in the area. According to reports, the Lebanese Army has fully withdrawn from the southern town, while Israeli forces began advancing toward it. An Israeli strike also hit a house in Debel, wounding one person.
Overnight, a series of strikes caused casualties and destruction in several areas. A raid on a house in Batouliyeh killed one person and wounded another, with civil defense teams transporting the victims to hospital as the home was completely destroyed. Shortly after midnight, another strike on a house between Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Zawtar al-Gharbiya killed two people and reduced the building to rubble.
At around 2:00 a.m., an Israeli drone struck a house in the center of Kfarhamam in the Hasbaya district, though no casualties were reported as residents had evacuated days earlier.
Israeli warplanes also hit a fuel station at the eastern entrance of Dweir shortly after midnight, partially destroying it and setting it ablaze. Firefighters and rescue teams worked until dawn to contain the flames.
In Beirut’s southern suburbs, a stronghold of Hezbollah, Israeli jets carried out an airstrike at around 4:30 a.m., following evacuation warnings issued for the area. The Israeli military said it had struck a Hezbollah command center in the capital and targeted fuel infrastructure linked to the group, including facilities operated by the Al-Amana company, which it described as a key financial and logistical arm used to support militant activities.
The military said the sites were used to supply fuel for vehicles transporting fighters and weapons.
Separately, the Israeli army said it targeted and killed a Hezbollah rocket-launching squad in southern Lebanon after they fired projectiles at Israeli troops. According to the military, a drone identified the operatives shortly after the launch and carried out a strike. No Israeli soldiers were reported injured.
In Israel, sirens sounded in the northern Haifa area after Hezbollah fired around 10 rockets toward the Krayot suburbs. The Israeli military said some of the projectiles were intercepted while others landed in open areas in line with standard procedures.
Amid the ongoing escalation, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said he and army chief Eyal Zamir had approved a new list of targets for strikes in both Iran and Lebanon.
Katz added that the Israeli Air Force had dropped more than 15,000 bombs in Iran since the start of the war, four times the number used during the 12-day conflict in June 2025.
Separately, a powerful explosion was heard in the town of Shebaa, with preliminary reports indicating a blast inside a house in the Bayader area. The explosion echoed across surrounding areas, causing alarm among residents, though the exact cause has not yet been determined.
