Sayegh Says Truth Will Emerge, Scorching Corruption and Arrogance

Kataeb MP Salim Sayegh called for the immediate formation of the Judicial Council to expedite the investigation into the 2020 Beirut port explosion case, lamenting continuous attempts to hinder justice.

"Without beating around the bush, why isn’t the Judicial Council being formed immediately to allow Judge Bitar to continue his work and close the case?" Sayegh asked in a post on X, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the stalled investigation.

Sayegh further questioned those impeding the judicial process: "Isn't the one obstructing justice the same as the one holding Lebanon hostage and blocking the presidential election? Isn't the one preventing Judge Bitar the same as the one demanding a price in exchange for sparing the victims? Isn't this the very definition of terrorism, practiced daily to cover up a crime against humanity that occurred on August 4th and to acquit all those involved in it?"

Sayegh did not hold back in his criticism of what he termed "pious hypocrites," accusing them of feigning piety while protecting those responsible for the crime.

"Stop pretending to pray and to display faith while you protect killers, fugitives, and those who sell their honor for the sake of power, wealth, or lust!"

"Know that the Beirut Port explosion is not a matter of embezzlement, political quotas, or personal gain. It is about a nation, an entity, existence, and partnership! You brood of vipers, the sun of truth will ultimately rise, scorching your power, arrogance, and corruption. The dawn of justice is inevitable!" Sayegh concluded.
