The Israeli military unleashed a wave of airstrikes on multiple areas across Lebanon on Thursday, targeting what it claims are Hezbollah missile production and storage facilities.
According to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency, at least seven Israeli air raids struck several locations in the Bekaa Valley and the mountainous Baalbek region in eastern and northeastern Lebanon. Additional strikes reportedly hit the Ghaziyeh area in the south, sparking a blaze at a warehouse.
The Israeli Defense Ministry Israel Katz described the strikes as a “renewed and violent offensive” aimed at Hezbollah’s largest facility for manufacturing precision-guided missiles.
“Every attempt by the terrorist organization to recover, reposition, or threaten will be met with relentless force,” Katz was quoted as saying by Israel's Channel 12.
The Israeli military said it had carried out a series of coordinated strikes targeting “strategic weapons infrastructure” used by Hezbollah for both production and storage purposes. Among the sites hit were an explosives manufacturing facility and an underground depot allegedly used to store and assemble precision-guided missiles.
The army added that the raids were launched after it detected what it called efforts by Hezbollah to rehabilitate previously targeted locations. One of the facilities in the Beqaa Valley had already been bombed in prior Israeli operations.
Specific targets included the outskirts of Brital and Nasiriyah towns in the Tallet al-Sunduq area of the Bekaa, as well as locations near the Jarmak area in Jezzine, and the southern towns of Mahmoudiya and Khardali.
