Sayegh: Let Us Put Lebanon First

Kataeb Lawmaker Selim Sayegh emphasized that "instead of seeking a middle ground, the opposing team resorted to the blank paper to drain our energy and disperse the votes, yet we remain undeterred."

He remarked, "The people have endured immense hardships, and we sympathize with those eager to return to their homes, awaiting reconstruction after their resources were depleted. They are also waiting for the return of international support and the restoration of their deposits in Lebanon."

In an interview with Voice of Lebanon, he further stated, "We must make sacrifices for the sake of Lebanon. The symbolism of General Joseph Aoun is significant, and for the first time in two years, a candidate has garnered this many votes—a figure that cannot be overlooked."

He stressed the importance of seizing this opportunity, noting, "We have yet to see ambassadors bearing briefcases, and there will be no empty promises or pledges. Let us put Lebanon first. I view the two hours more as a chance for a lunch break than a real opportunity for consultation."
