Newly Kataeb elected lawmaker Selim Sayegh said that his party has regained a historic seat in Keserwan Jbeil district, saying that the Kataeb party must show that its presence is heavy in this region.

“People want a different performance from that based on compromise; it is necessary to reach out to people with whom we agree at the core. We are against the logic of duos that destroyed Lebanon,” Sayegh said in an interview with MTV.

“The argument that we must preserve stability has "carved" Lebanon, and we will not accept any attempts to threaten and force power inside Lebanon,” he added.

“Change has begun, we should not lose this opportunity and the democratic confrontation must continue. Moreover, Hezbollah must realize that it could not impose its opinion anymore,” he pointed out.

Sayegh dedicated his victory to Joe Akiki, Joe Noun and all Qartaba martyrs and their families, stressing that he will continue fighting until achieving justice and uncovering the truth of the Beirut port explosion.
