Hekmeh Beirut secured a spot in the final of the West Asia Super League "WASL" Final 8 after defeating Kuwait SC 87-74 in the semifinals, setting up a purely Lebanese showdown with Al Riyadi Beirut for the title.
The quarters ended as follows: 21-18 / 26-22 / 26-15 / 14-19.
The green team continued its continental journey successfully, having finished the group stage with a perfect score, achieving three consecutive victories over Shahrdari Gorgan of Iran with a score of 103-97, Al Ula of Saudi Arabia 95-89, and Al Arabi of Qatar 90-85.
Hekmeh entered the semifinal match against Kuwait with the ambition of continuing its winning streak and succeeded in securing a ticket to the final, confirming its presence among the top clubs in the tournament this season.
The matchup had a special significance for both sides, as they had previously met in the semifinals of the 2024 edition, where Hekmeh won the match 76-72, before losing the final to Al Riyadi after overtime.
Hekmeh's qualification was the result of a complete set of elements relied upon by coach Joe Ghattas, led by Youssef Khayat, Deshondre Washington, and Ali Mazhar, along with Jamal Jones, A.J. English, Gerard Hadidian, and Karim Azeddine.
Hekmeh will face Al Riyadi Beirut in the final, after the latter secured its victory against Al Ula of Saudi Arabia with a score of 82-78 in the semifinals, continuing its title defense campaign.
Al Riyadi had topped the first group without any losses before overcoming Al Ula and securing the first ticket to the final, awaiting the anticipated Lebanese clash with Hekmeh for the "WASL" Final 8 title.
Thus, the final matchup will be purely Lebanese, as both teams successfully overcame all their competitors to reach the last match of the tournament.
