Kataeb Lawmaker Selim Sayegh opposes those who promote the slogan “No voice rises above the voice of the battles”, considering that “specifically in battles, it is necessary to listen to all the voices and resort to the voice of reason and interest of Lebanon.”
“This time calls urgently for internal dialogue, not as it was previously claimed, to bypass the constitution and institutions. The dialogue needed today aims to neutralize Lebanon which has become entangled in a war it has not stake in, as admitted by Lebanon’s Prime Minister,” Sayegh said in an interview with “Al Modon”.
"The language of hatred leads nowhere. In times of major crises, we must resort to reason, not emotions and impulses,” he stressed.
"Amidst all that is happening, where is Lebanon's voice and its diversity? Lebanon is absent from international conferences. We are all required to triumph without discussion, similar to Hamas in Gaza, while the Lebanese entity itself is under threat. We find ourselves engaging in battles, facing their consequences without understanding the reasons and waiting for Mr. Hassan Nasrallah's decision," Sayegh said.
