Salameh's Attorney Files Counterclaim Against Prosecution Authority

The prosecution authority in Beirut, under the presidency of Judge Maher Shiito and with the membership of Counselors Joseph Bou Sleiman and Christelle Malaki, convenes to determine the course of action to be taken regarding the Central Bank Former Governor Riad Salameh.

Salameh's attorney confirmed that his client will not attend, and that he has filed a counterclaim against the state regarding the actions of the authorities that have alternated in reviewing Salameh's case.

Salameh’s attorney explained, “This decision does not include grounds for its designation as a decision. The record of the third session before the chief investigator is still open because the cases committee head had to leave, and because she still has questions to ask. As a result, The First Investigating Judge Charbel Abu Samra kept the record open, while she considered that he left Salameh and resumed his decision”.
