MP Ashraf Rifi stated that the current leadership vacuum in the Sunni community has disrupted the balance of power in Lebanon's political environment.
He believes that a new, potentially fragmented leadership is in the process of being formed.
He also commented on the presidential elections, stating that “a sovereign president will likely be elected before the end of spring, and what has been said about the French equation and Paris's insistence on a Hezbollah candidate is a mere attempt that will not achieve its goal."
Additionally, he emphasized that the Sunni community is fighting alongside their Christian allies for the presidency, as they are an essential component of the state's decision-making process.
"We will not accept again, neither Michel Aoun nor Hassan Diab in the positions of the first and third presidencies, the era of puppets has ended," he said.
