Justice Minister Adel Nassar announced Thursday that he is preparing a comprehensive legal and political dossier aimed at protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty amid rising regional tensions, MTV Lebanon reported.

Speaking during a Cabinet session, Nassar stressed that Lebanon must not be turned into a military platform serving foreign interests, particularly as a base linked to Iran’s defense strategy.

“The focus is on safeguarding Lebanon’s sovereignty,” Nassar was quoted as saying. “We must protect the country from the brutality of Israeli aggression and prevent the security of our citizens from being sacrificed in defense of external interests.”

The dossier Nassar is preparing is reportedly intended to provide a framework for ensuring that Lebanon’s territory and decision-making remain under the exclusive authority of the State amid lingering concerns about the risks of external powers influencing military or political actions on Lebanese soil.
