Kataeb Lawmaker Nadim Gemayel said that the president shall award medals to people who served Lebanon, not to people who served him or his party.

“Please explain to us the Syrian Ambassador's Medal is awarded in appreciation of what? Of his criminal regime? Of killing officers and soldiers? Of kidnapping thousands of young people? Or for his refusal to receive the border demarcation delegation?” Gemayel tweeted.

“He transformed this authority into a farce same as he did with Lebanon and the presidency,” he added.

Gemayel words came after President Aoun awarded random medals few days before his term ends.
