French School Admits Sheep to Keep Class Open
A school in Crets en Belledonne, a small French Alps village, is enrolling sheep in classes to compensate for the low number of students.
Due to French regulations which require a minimum number of students in a class or else it would be closed, the Jules Ferry elementary school, which has 261 students, has so far registered some 15 sheep as pupils in order not to lose state funding for one of its 11 classes.
