Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi met on Thursday with Caretaker Interor Minister Bassam Mawlawi in Bkerke.

After the meeting, Mawlawi stressed that his ministry was ready for the municipal and mayoral elections at the administrative level, emphasizing the necessity of holding the polls.

"The Lebanese should exploit the regional understandings for the benefit of Lebanon, especially in terms of electing a president," he noted.

He also highlighted the obligation to elect a president of the republic as soon as possible to build a real State that resembles the good and heroic Lebanese.
