Police Arrest Two Syrians Suspected of Involvement in the Murder of Hubert Fattal

Lebanese Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi announced Monday that police have arrested two Syrians suspected of being involved in the murder of Hubert Fattal, CEO of the Fattal distribution group.

Here’s what we know:

    • Hubert Fattal was found stabbed to death in his villa in the Metn area of Mansourieh on Sunday.

    • “Less than 24 hours after the murder of Hubert Fattal, the intelligence service of the Internal Security Forces was able to determine the circumstances of the tragedy and arrest two people involved,” Mawlawi said in a tweet, noting that those arrested hold “Syrian nationality.”

    • Local media reported on Sunday that the victim had multiple stab wounds to the neck and hip.

    • Hubert Fattal had led the Fattal Group since 2016. The company, which operates in Lebanon and the wider region, was founded in 1897 by his great-grandfather Khalil Fares Fattal. A graduate of the prestigious Parsons School of Design in Paris and of the Goldsmith College of Fine Arts in London, Hubert Fattal was also at the head of the fragrance brand Fragrances Hubert Fattal.
