On March 2, Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel – though the decision for it to do so was almost certainly made by Iran – carrying Lebanon into a new war with Israeli forces. Individuals handed over to the Lebanese Army in connection with March rocket attacks on Israel have admitted responsibility for the launches, a senior Lebanese security source told Sky News Arabia on Wednesday.
According to the source, the suspects confessed to firing rockets in two separate incidents that triggered Israeli retaliatory strikes on Lebanese territory.
The official also said that Lebanese authorities expect Hamas to hand over a fourth wanted individual, who is being actively sought by security forces, within the next few hours.
“We have received assurances from Hamas that no military action will be carried out from Lebanese territory,” the source added.
