Kataeb leader's legal adviser, Lara Saade on Thursday said that the Kataeb party has submitted a proposal regarding lifting the Built property tax on all people who live next to landfills as a symbolic compensation to the damage that has been imposed on their property and health, stressing that whoever has a conscience must vote for this bill.
“No one can deny the damage the landfills are leaving on people,” Saadeh told Voice of Lebanon radio station.
Saadeh stressed that both General Amnesty and Capital Control laws have a lot of differences because they contain a lot of problems.
“The General Amnesty law is a political agreement whose main goal is not to lift injustice off some prisoners,” she said.
“It is not possible to strike the law and let people who have committed serious crimes to get out of prison in light of the widespread unemployment and economic crises prevailing over the country,” she added.
Saadeh stressed that the Capital Control should have been adopted for more than 8 months so that people won’t transfer their money abroad, saying that today this law is no longer of the same importance.
“According to our information this law will be withdrawn from the Cabinet and will be sent to the committees for consideration,” she noted.
