Lebanese Authorities Arrest 70 Syrians for Illegal Border Entry

A patrol from the Tripoli customs services arrested around 70 Syrian nationals who were traveling aboard a bus in Bohsas, according to local reports.

The individuals are suspected of having illegally crossed into Lebanese territory through one of the clandestine routes along Lebanon’s northern border with Syria.

The driver of the bus, a Lebanese national, was also arrested.

The vehicle, along with the detained passengers, has been transferred to the General Security Directorate of Tripoli, where judicial procedures are reportedly underway.

The Lebanese authorities have been increasing efforts to curb illegal crossings, with heightened patrols and stricter measures aimed at tackling the ongoing issue of migration through illegal channels.
