Mid-Air Interception Triggers Blast Over Keserwan as Reports Cite Iranian Missile Aimed at U.S. Target

A powerful explosion rattled parts of Mount Lebanon and the Keserwan region on Tuesday, with videos circulating on social media showing plumes of smoke rising from the coastal area of Haret Sakher.

Israeli media reported that the missile intercepted over Keserwan had been launched by Iran toward a U.S. target in Lebanon, a claim that aligns with other reports suggesting the intended target may have been the U.S. Embassy in Awkar.

LBCI said the missile detonated in the air, with multiple fragments falling over Keserwan, though no direct strikes were reported.

A report published by Annahar, citing an initial security assessment in Lebanon, said that the Iranian missile was probably aimed at the US embassy in Awkar or at the Hamat base in northern Lebanon.

No casualties were immediately reported.
