Israeli Army Intensifies Strikes Across Lebanon as Hezbollah Drone Hits Factory Northern Israel

The Israeli military has intensified its airstrikes on southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley on Sunday, as sirens sound across northern Israel, warning of incoming rockets amid escalating hostilities with Hezbollah.

At least three people were killed in an Israeli air strike on Zawtar Al Sharkiya in southern Lebanon, the country's health ministry said on Sunday, adding that an air strike on Marjayoun the previous day resulted in five fatalities and one injury.

A Hezbollah drone launched from Lebanon struck Israel’s Bar Lev industrial zone in the north, injuring two people. The drone hit a factory belonging to BAZ Aviation Components, a company specializing in aerospace metal parts for both civilian and military sectors, according to information on the company’s LinkedIn page. The Israei army confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are underway to ascertain further details.

Hezbollah also announced it targeted a gathering of Israeli forces northeast of the Maanara settlement with a "precise" drone strike, claiming to have hit its targets accurately and causing casualties.

The group also said it targeted a "military industries base north of Haifa ... with a large rocket salvo".

In Beirut, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported an Israeli raid targeting the southern suburbs of the capital early Sunday. Shortly after midnight on Saturday, the Israeli military advised civilians in Burj al-Barajneh and Hadath to leave their homes, stating on social media that the areas were “near Hezbollah facilities and interests” and that the Israeli military would be conducting operations in the vicinity.

The Israeli military reported that in the past 24 hours alone, it has launched airstrikes on 120 targets across Lebanon, including sites alleged to be Hezbollah weapons production and storage facilities in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

“We killed 70 Hezbollah operatives during the recent strikes and targeted military infrastructure in southern Lebanon,” the Israeli army stated.

The Israeli army also announced it killed the commander of Hezbollah’s Bint Jbeil region and his replacement within 24 hours over the weekend.

On Friday, the Hezbollah commander in charge of the Lebanese border village of Bint Jbeil, Ahmad Jaafar Maatouk, was killed in a strike carried out by fighter jets, according to the Israeli military.

A day later, Maatouk’s replacement, along with the commander of Hezbollah’s artillery forces in the area, were killed in a separate airstrike, it added.

The Israeli military on Sunday said four of its soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon, bringing to 36 the total number of Israeli soldiers killed since the start of ground operations on September 30.
