Israeli Airstrikes Target Key Beirut Neighborhoods

Israeli airstrikes targeted the Lebanese capital, Beirut, intensifying tensions in the region. This evening, a series of strikes hit key areas within the city, causing significant damage.

One airstrike targeted a building located between the densely populated districts of Ras al-Nabaa and al-Nouairy. Another strike was reported in the al-Basta neighborhood. A third strike hit the Burj Abi Haydar neighborhood.

According to an Associated Press photographer at the scene, the first strike in the area of Ras al-Nabaa appears to have hit the lower half of an eight-story apartment building.

The strike that hit the area of Burj Abi Haydar destroyed an entire building which was engulfed in flames, the photographer said.

Initial toll issued by Lebanon's Health Ministry indicated that 18 people were killed and 92 others were injured in the strikes.

Israel's Channel 12 reported that one of the airstrike had targeted Wafiq Safa, the head of Hezbollah's Liaison and Coordination Unit.

Later, Reuters cited three security sources as saying that Safa has survived the assassination attempt.

Exclusive information obtained by our website indicated that the Khatam al-Anbiya' complex, located in al-Nouairy, was specifically targeted in one of the attacks.

This marks the third attack outside the southern suburbs of Beirut since Israel intensified its operations against Hezbollah last month.
