The Israeli military renewed its warning to civilians in southern Lebanon on Thursday, urging residents to immediately leave their homes and move north of the Litani River as fighting with Hezbollah intensifies.
Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said the evacuation order applies broadly across the region and specifically includes residents of the cities of Tyre and Bint Jbeil.
“Urgent warning to residents of southern Lebanon: You must continue moving immediately to the north of the Litani River,” Adraee said in a statement.
“We reiterate that the warning also includes residents of the cities of Tyre and Bint Jbeil,” he added.
Adraee cautioned that civilians remaining near Hezbollah personnel or infrastructure could be placing themselves in danger.
“Anyone who is near Hezbollah operatives, its facilities, or its weapons is putting their life at risk,” he said. “Any house used by Hezbollah for military purposes may be subject to targeting.”
According to the Israeli military’s estimates, more than 300,000 Lebanese civilians have already fled their villages in southern Lebanon since the latest escalation began.
The displacement adds to the toll of previous hostilities. During the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in 2024, nearly 1.2 million Lebanese were forced from their homes.
