Hezbollah Spokesman Says No Ceasefire Proposal Received Yet, Affirms Preparedness for Long War

Hezbollah announced on Monday that it has not received any official ceasefire proposal as Israel signaled diplomatic progress on truce efforts, a spokesperson for the militant group said.

“So far, according to my information, nothing official has reached Lebanon or us in this regard,” Hezbollah’s head of media, Mohammed Afif, said during a press conference in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

“I believe that we are still in the phase of testing the waters and presenting initial ideas and proactive discussions, but so far there is nothing actual yet.”

Afif emphasized that Hezbollah is prepared for an extended conflict with Israel, underscoring that the group has ample weaponry and supplies to sustain a prolonged engagement. He dismissed statements by Israeli officials claiming Hezbollah’s military capabilities had been diminished, noting the group’s ongoing attacks on Israeli territory.

“Israeli forces have failed to hold territory six weeks into their ground invasion,” Afif claimed, citing a reported Israeli attempt to enter the southern Lebanese town of Khiyam last week as unsuccessful.

“As long as you are not able to control areas in the field, you will not achieve your political goals,” he said.

Afif also challenged assertions by Israeli officials that Hezbollah has lost the majority of its missile capabilities, highlighting the group’s continued launch of dozens of projectiles daily, including strikes on central Israel.
