Hezbollah Clashes with Israeli Ground Forces as Airstrikes Pound Lebanon’s Border Villages

Israeli airstrikes have intensified across southern Lebanon, targeting a range of areas and causing widespread destruction.

The Israeli air force launched a series of raids on several locations, including Jabal al-Rihan in the Jezzine district, Qana, al-Sitteeniya, al-Khiyam, and multiple villages such as Arnoun, Kfar Tibnit, Alma al-Shaab, al-Dahira, Burj al-Moulouk, and al-Nabatiya al-Fawqa. One of the strikes destroyed a house near the Ghazal fuel station, causing significant damage.

In the town of Mayfadoun, Israeli warplanes bombed the al-Maloula neighborhood early in the morning, completely demolishing a house belonging to a local family. Later in the day, around 2:45 p.m., Israeli jets struck a residential building near Sheikh Ragheb Harb Hospital in the town of Toul, leaving it in ruins. Ambulance and rescue teams from the Red Cross, the Islamic Health Authority, and the Islamic Scout Association rushed to the scene to provide aid.

In the meantime, Israeli airstrikes hit the northwestern outskirts of Hermel, targeting a border crossing with Syria, further escalating tensions in the Bekaa region.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah reported direct clashes with Israeli infantry units. The militant group claimed it engaged Israeli forces with machine guns as they attempted to infiltrate the southern town of al-Qouzah. The clashes are said to be ongoing. In another confrontation near the Kanaan high ground in the town of Blida, Hezbollah stated that several Israeli soldiers were killed or wounded. The group also launched rocket attacks, targeting the Tira Carmel base in southern Haifa, Kiryat Shmona settlement, and a gathering of Israeli military personnel and vehicles at the Zareit barracks.
