Hakim Says Embassy Evacuation Calls Heighten Anxiety, Harm Economy

Kataeb Political Bureau Member, Alain Hakim, voiced his concerns about the growing unease in Lebanon due to the frequent calls by foreign embassies for their citizens to leave Lebanon, saying that these actions are exacerbating anxiety and tension within the country, ultimately harming Lebanon's stability and economy.

"The repeated calls by embassies for the evacuation of their citizens heighten anxiety and tension, negatively impacting stability and the economy," Hakim said in a post on his X account.

The former minister emphasized the need for practical measures to protect Lebanon and its people. He suggested that, instead of instilling fear and uncertainty, embassies should focus on providing tangible assurances of support.

"It would have been more beneficial to provide practical guarantees to protect the country and support the Lebanese people, especially since the majority is against the war, rather than leaving them facing the unknown," Hakim asserted.

Hakim concluded his post with a call for unity among the Lebanese people, urging his fellow citizens to stand together and rely on their collective strength in the face of uncertainty.

"Ultimately, we must rely on our unity alone," he stated.
