Fatah Official Killed in Israeli Drone Strike in Sidon

An Israeli drone struck a vehicle in the southern city of Sidon, near the Ain Al-Helwe refugee camp, killing one person and wounding others.

The strike targeted Khalil Al-Makdah, a prominent leader within the Fatah movement.

Mounir Al-Makdah, who heads the Lebanese branch of Fatah’s armed wing, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, told Al-Mayadeen channel that his brother Khalil had been killed.

He said his brother had been a commander in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades.

The Israeli army accused the Al-Makdah brothers of "acting on behalf of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard," and of being "involved in organizing terrorist attacks" and "weapons trafficking" to the West Bank. They are also accused of transferring weapons from Iran to Hezbollah.

Earlier, an Israeli drone struck a car with a guided missile in the southern town of Beit Leef, killing Hezbollah member, Hussein Mustafa.

The incident follows a series of retaliatory actions by Hezbollah, which announced it had launched a barrage of Katyusha rockets at the Tsanubar logistics base in the Golan Heights, an area occupied by Israel, in the wake of Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in Bekaa on Tuesday night.

Israeli media reported on Wednesday a significant escalation, with more than 60 rockets fired from Lebanon into the Katzrin area of the Golan Heights. The barrage resulted in at least five direct hits, with Israel's Channel 12 noting damage to a house in the Katzrin settlement.

Al-Hadath news channel further reported that Israeli soldiers were injured in a Hezbollah attack on a military base in the Golan Heights.

Israeli artillery has been heavily targeting the Litani River and the outskirts of the town of Deir Mimas in southern Lebanon.

Further complicating the situation, Israeli airstrikes hit the areas surrounding the towns of Naqoura and Alma al-Shaab, causing extensive damage to property, agriculture, and infrastructure. The strikes also extended to the Hamoul Valley near Naqoura, resulting in additional casualties and fatalities.

Israeli forces have been conducting aerial operations, including mock raids over southern villages at low altitude.

The Israeli military also launched flares over border villages adjacent to the Blue Line, extending to the outskirts of Tyre.
