Audi Calls on Officials to Reject War, Keep Lebanon Away from Conflict

Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Beirut and its suburbs Archbishop Elias Audi called on world leaders, especially those who champion human rights, to work on stopping the war in Gaza Strip, providing medical assistance to the wounded, sheltering the displaced, and finding a fair solution to an issue that has been neglected for long

“In a world far from sanctity, plagued by the horror of wars, lack of faith, and absence of humanity, and amidst the world's silence regarding all that is happening in this region in terms of the persecution of innocent civilians, our hope is that the fighting stops and the voice of conscience prevails among the world leaders. We hope that wisdom prevails among those who have the power to make a difference in our lives," Audi said in his Sunday’s sermon.

Audi hoped that all relevant officials, politicians and leaders would unite in rejecting war and keeping Lebanon away from this conflict, urging for swift action in electing a president and forming a government that can lead the country towards its welfare and the safety of its people.
