Unknown individuals vandalized a monument of President Joseph Aoun in the Jarmak-Aishiyeh area of Jezzine district, defacing it with Hezbollah slogans, according to local reports.
The incident drew swift condemnation from Kataeb Political Bureau member and lawyer Maroun Assaf, who denounced the act in a post on X, calling it an insult to the presidency.
"What happened in the Jarmak-Aishiyeh area of Jezzine, the birthplace of the president, is an insult to the presidency and to the president himself, the protector of the Constitution," Assaf wrote. "It is also a direct message to the presidential term and to the president's oath of office. This act is reprehensible, and security agencies must take action to identify the perpetrators."
