Warner Bros on Wednesday released the trailer for "Joker", a psychological thriller film based on the DC Comics character of the same name.
The film stars Joaquin Phoenix as the diabolical figure behind the creepy face paint, with a focus on the roots of Gotham's most-feared villain.
The trailer shows Arthur Fleck dancing with his mother, being harrassed while working as a street clown, and assaulted on a subway train.
Fleck then starts turning into a twisted and sick criminal.
The movie is directed by Todd Philips and features a cast including Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
The film will be released in the U.S. in October.
