Al-Rahi Calls for Constitutional Respect and Justice for Beirut Blast Victims

In his sermon delivered at Bkerke on Sunday, Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi emphasized the critical importance of upholding the Constitution, which he described as sacred and inviolable worldwide.

He lamented the ongoing political crisis in Lebanon, attributing its roots to the repeated violations of the Constitution and the failure to elect a president.

Patriarch Rahi underscored that the election of a president is essential for restoring confidence in Lebanon and its institutions.

Furthermore, Patriarch Rahi expressed solidarity with the mothers of the victims of the August 4th explosion, affirming that their pursuit of justice will not be forgotten. He pledged continued support for their cause, emphasizing the enduring nature of their demands for accountability and justice.

Through his remarks, the Patriarch urged national unity in addressing both the constitutional crisis and the quest for justice, highlighting the interconnectedness of these issues in Lebanon's path towards stability and renewal.
