Israel Launches ‘Special, Targeted’ Ground Operations in Southern Lebanon

Israel’s army announced on Wednesday that its 91st Division carried out a series of “special, targeted” incursions into southern Lebanon aimed at dismantling Hezbollah’s military capabilities.

In an official statement, the Israeli army said its troops identified multiple Hezbollah weapons caches and underground storage sites along the border. Under cover of darkness, the 91st Division reportedly destroyed a compound on Jabal Blat mountain housing arms depots and firing positions. Meanwhile, operatives from the reservist-led 9th Brigade conducted engineering demolitions on concealed facilities in the Labbouneh area. There, they confiscated a multi‑barrel rocket launcher, a heavy machine gun, dozens of explosive devices, and uncovered another subterranean weapons stockpile.

The Israeli military did not specify the exact timing of these raids, but released night‑vision footage showcasing soldiers methodically clearing tunnels and bunkers inside Lebanese territory. According to the army, these operations were launched only after intelligence pinpointed the locations of the illicit arms.

Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli drones also flew over Beirut and its southern suburbs on Wednesday.
