U.S. Envoy Gives Lebanon Until End of November to Act on Hezbollah Weapons

U.S. envoy Tom Barrack has reportedly given the Lebanese Army a deadline until the end of November to take action on Hezbollah’s weapons, Israel’s Channel 13 reported on Wednesday. The envoy warned that if no change occurs, Israel would have the green light to launch attacks, with the United States understanding such steps.

The report added that the Israeli military is preparing for a potential series of confrontations that could last several days against Hezbollah, as Tel Aviv escalates threats to resume airstrikes in an effort to pressure the Lebanese government into disarming the militant group.

Western intelligence sources cited by the Israeli daily Haaretz indicate that Hezbollah has partially rebuilt its military supply network, receiving shipments of weapons from Iran via Iraq and Syria. Israeli intelligence also reports intensive activity by the group aimed at restoring its operational capabilities and strengthening its influence in Lebanon, particularly in areas north of the Litani River.

Israel’s public broadcaster warned that “there will be no safe place in Lebanon” if Hezbollah continues to rearm.
