UN Human Rights Office Expresses Deep Concern Over Rising Tensions Between Hezbollah and Israel

The UN human rights office expressed deep concern on Friday regarding the escalating tension between Lebanon and Israel, calling for a comprehensive investigation into any incidents involving civilian casualties.

"We are extremely worried about the situation – with hundreds killed, thousands injured, and tens of thousands displaced already, plus worrying rhetoric increasing too," stated spokesperson Ravina Shamdasan in response to a question by Anadolu.

Shamdasan highlighted the human rights office's receipt of "very worrying" reports indicating that children, paramedics, and journalists are among those killed.

"We are seriously concerned about compliance with international humanitarian law – and remind the parties of their obligations," Shamdasan added.
