Trump Rejects Link Between Iran Truce and Lebanon Ceasefire, Says U.S. Will "Make Lebanon Great Again"

U.S. President Donald Trump pushed back on efforts by Iran to link the recent ceasefire in Lebanon to a separate truce reached last week, insisting the two tracks remain distinct.

“This deal is in no way subject to Lebanon,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social..

He added that Washington would handle the Lebanese file independently, including the issue of Hezbollah, through a separate process.

“The United States will, separately, work with Lebanon, and deal with the Hezbollah situation in an appropriate manner,” Trump said.

Trump also asserted that Israel would halt its strikes on Lebanon under U.S. pressure.

“Israel will not be bombing Lebanon any longer,” he said, adding that such actions are now “prohibited by the USA.”

“Enough is enough,” Trump said.

However, a US official told The Times of Israel that the “ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel clearly states that Israel will not carry out any offensive military operations against Lebanese targets but preserves its right to self-defense against planned, imminent, or ongoing attacks.”

A few minutes later, trump posted another statement, saying: "Again! This deal is not tied, in any way, to Lebanon, but we will, MAKE LEBANON GREAT AGAIN!"
