Speaking anonymously, the official emphasized that mediators intend to leverage the attack to press for a cease-fire in Gaza, aiming to prevent a broader regional conflict.

"Both fronts are connected," the official stated. "A cease-fire in Gaza will lead to a cease-fire with Hezbollah."
