Kataeb Foreign Affairs Department Voices Full Support for Cardinal Sako amid Iranian Axis Practices in Iraq

The Foreign Affairs Department at the Kataeb Party issued the following statement:

"Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid made an unprecedented and unjustified move as he withdrew the republican decree regarding Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako, stripping him of his powers in managing the endowments of the Chaldean Church, the largest Christian sect in Iraq, which experienced extremism that displaced its people, thus changing the face of the country.

This dangerous precedent, which Iraq has never witnessed before, did not come out of the blue, but is an extension of the approach adopted by the Iranian Axis in all countries, seeking to dominate its decisions.

In light of this reality, the Foreign Affairs Department at the Kataeb Party affirms its full support for Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako.

His departure from the Patriarchate headquarters in Baghdad and his retreat to one of the monasteries in Arbil carries a clear message to the Arab countries in particular and to the world in general to exert every effort to end this fabricated crisis and these practices that target diversity in politics, opinion, and religion, and seek to change the face of the region."
