The families of the victims of the Beirut port explosion are staging a sit-in in front of the port's Gate Nine, asking that the fire be put out and that the silos not be destroyed.

Families are threatening to block roadways and escalate the situation if fire is not extinguished.

In a similar context, the Beirut fire brigade started to create a field plan to put out the fire in the silos and cool the location.

The meeting was chaired by Colonel Maher al-Ajouz, Chief of the Beirut Fire Brigade.
