Kataeb lawmaker Selim Sayegh on Friday tweeted: “We met as a subcommittee for education with Judge Ali Ibrahim and we revealed the agreement between the President of the Lebanese University and the Director of the Middle East Airlines, so that $5 million would be paid in fresh USD and the rest of the portion would be paid in LBP at a rate of 10,000 per 1 USD . We refused and we gave a deadline to settle the matter according to the rules, but no avail. What my colleague Waddah is saying is honest and truthful!” 

Earlier, Lawmaker Waddah Sadek said that the President of the Lebanese University was trying to conclude an agreement with the Middle East Airlines in a bid to reduce the $52 million collected from PCR tests to less than a third and deprive the university from the possibility to rise again.

“They keep on wasting the money of the institutions. Public Financial Prosecutor Ali Ibrahim is still overlooking this matter until today,” Waddah added.
