Sayegh Submits Proposal to Form a Parliamentary Commission Inquiry to Inquire into Construction of New terminal at Beirut Airport

Kataeb Lawmaker Selim Sayegh submitted a proposal to form a Parliamentary Commission Inquiry to inquire into the construction of a new terminal at Rafik Hariri International Airport in accordance with Rule 139 of the Rule of Procedure of the Lebanese Parliament, deeming election of president top priority.

“Parliamentarians were elected to play their role as a supervisory authority that exercises its right to hold corrupt people accountable. Investigative journalism in Lebanon opened the issue of the construction of a new terminal at Rafik Hariri International Airport and exposed the hidden documents, and caught our attention as deputies because the ruling authority is not taking action as it should,” Sayegh said in a press conference.

The Lawmaker called on all administrative bodies to contact the deputies directly in a bid to hold all perpetrators accountable.

“We submitted a proposal to form a Parliamentary Commission Inquiry to inquire into the construction of a new terminal at Rafik Hariri International Airport as the respect of the law and the regulatory bodies is a duty,” he added.

“We are talking about the protection of the Lebanon’s State, citizens and their rights,” he noted.
