Sayegh Stands in Solidarity with Patriarch Rahi, Says Those Intimidated by Freedom Are Not Fortified by Any Weapon

Kataeb Lawmaker Selim Sayegh wrote on "X" platform: "Baabda reiterated its stance boldly and effectively! We voiced it yesterday, particularly alongside Kataeb Leader MP Samy Gemayel. Accusations of treason are unified and comprehensive."

"Those intimidated by freedom are not fortified by any weapon!" he added.

"We remind those fearful of free speech: Baabda's reliance has always been on the steadfastness of faith and mercy as a way of life," he said.

"Beware of playing with the symbols of the Maronites, for their strength lies in their golden hearts," he indicated.

"Be cautious of testing them, for they are free individuals who only abide by truth and conscience; their weapon cannot be overcome, their cause cannot be defeated and their roots cannot be uprooted. We shall not yield to those who seek confrontation; our martyrs throughout history have fallen before monasteries, homes, in their villages and neighborhoods, in defense of presence without hesitation," Sayegh concluded.

Al-Rahi had deplored on Sunday the ignition of the situation in the border areas from the vicinity of residential villages.

"We also cannot accept that a party take the peace and war decisions outside the decision of the state and the national decision," al-Rahi also said, referring to Hezbollah, which sparked a political and social media uproar against him.
