Sayegh from Bkerke: We Caution Against Encroachments on Lebanon's Sovereignty

Kataeb. Lawmaker Selim Sayegh called for separating files, especially the presidential file, from regional and local rivalries.

He emphasized the importance of addressing specific concerns, particularly regarding potential trade-offs between different issues.

After visiting Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi in Bkerke, Sayegh stated that they discussed national issues and sought guidance amid challenging circumstances.

He highlighted the ongoing internal assault on institutions, urging adherence to national opposition principles.

Sayegh urged the Ministry of Finance to address the plight of Mount Lebanon's residents before it triggers unrest.

He commended the religious leaders for their recent statement and urged compliance with international decisions to protect Lebanon's sovereignty and stability.

Furthermore, he cautioned against encroachments on Lebanon's sovereignty, emphasizing that only the elected President, by the constitution, can engage in international agreements on behalf of Lebanon.

Regarding public sector employees enduring hardships, Sayegh called for their fair treatment and emphasized the importance of their role in serving society.

He urged targeted efforts to support them across Lebanon.

Regarding real estate departments in Mount Lebanon, Sayegh demanded equitable treatment, pointing out discrepancies in service provision between regions.

He criticized the arbitrary handling of requests and the neglect of thousands of pending files.

He urged the Ministry of Finance to address these issues promptly before they provoked a public backlash.
