Secretary of State of the Vatican City, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, participated in the ceremony of awarding the literary award to ambassadors accredited to the Holy See, pointing out the necessity of pursuing diplomatic activity in order to achieve peace, pointing out that “the responsibility lies with everyone.”

Parolin spoke about the situation in Lebanon, stressing "the importance of electing a new president of the republic," hoping that "the Christian component will play an active role in this regard."
